About Little Plane Records
Little Plane Records is a small record label that I do all of my recording under at the aptly named Little Plane Studios (my house). I also offer this service to other musicians whose recording needs do not require the full professional muscle that a formal studio would provide (and expect payment for).
Back in 2014, I wrote a song called "Little Plane" that appeared on the first album I recorded myself (Simulation Avenue), leading to the little plane becoming the metaphor of my enterprise: Small, efficient, limited, and, ultimately, functional.
Record with Little Plane Records
If you'd like to have me record your single, EP, or album, I'd be honored to do so! I am not a professional sound engineer --those are people who have committed their lives to that trade; it is difficult and complex work and they deserve to be singled out as something more than I am. BUT, if you listen to the albums that I have recorded (see below) and deem the sound quality to be appropriate for you, send me a message. I am based in Peoria, IL.
Rates
Recording is expensive. I also know that little-known musicians like myself (solo singer-songwriters especially, who are often footing the entire bill themselves) don't often have the kind of money to justify such an expense. To that end, I offer lots of flexibility here. My rate is $20/hour --slightly more than minimum wage, but enough for me to feel my time is being valued. If that number is too high for your budget, please reach out. I know what it's like to want to record but to not have the resources to get it done. I am always willing to work with you.
