some people are going to tell you it’s a waste of your money
or worse that it’s a waste of your time
but when fifteen Starbucks move into your neighborhood
who is going to tell you which one to choose?
no one thinks of that
no one to tell you when the buses run
or at least no one to go pick up a schedule for you
who is going to tell you that one-eyed Jim down on the corner of Fifth and Pine
with all his ramblings about the atrocities committed by the Harrison administration
is actually a pretty nice guy
no one thinks of that either
to tell you that, here, love can very much be a one-way street
or that the road with the lighthouse is a dead end
no, no one thinks of any of that
