Streets of Old Milwaukee

Don't you know the witches on the bridge are walking the streets of Old Milwaukee

For the small cost of an arm or a leg or better yet thirty-eight dollars
they'll cast a curse to transport you away
to that old-timey time when life was all you could buy
where you think you'd be happy, but most likely probably die

Because witches aren't often from a time with all that much longevity of life

Because we're all just waiting, just waiting on a train
the darkness may be coming but it ain't dark today
so let the witches cast their curse, fact let 'em cast three
for there's no place we'd rather be
than walking the streets of Old Milwaukee

The late-night robins overheard are flying o'er the streets of Old Milwaukee

They ain't singing but they ain't dead, it seems like something of a choice
like they've got the chops but the timing's a mistake
it's a calculation of when the world wants your song
divided by the times they say you don't belong

But robins wait around for their time to announce all returning of life

But we're all just waiting, just waiting on a train
the darkness may be coming but it ain't dark today
so let the robins sing their song, fact let 'em sing three
for there's no place we'd rather be
than flying o'er the streets of Old Milwaukee

The mannequins and culture bins underneath the lights
the trolly cars and the corner bars and all the other sights
they don't give half the delight
of a witch's brew and a robin's tune devouring the night

But we're all just waiting, just waiting on a train
the darkness may be coming but it ain't dark today
so let the witches sing their songs of a long gone history
for there's no place we'd rather be
than walking the streets of Old Milwaukee
